Below are some of the frequently asked questions we get about the KANfix Bandage Range and SHOWfit Performance Range. If your question is not covered below please send us an e-mail and we will respond to you directly.

KANfix Veterinary Canine and Abdominal Range

Q: In using the KANfix Veterinary Bandage Range, how do I safely apply compression therapy as part of my clinical management?
A: The KANfix Veterinary Bandage Range has been specifically designed to allow the clinician to achieve the benefits of compression therapy in a safe environment. Our products have been tested by an independent engineering group to ensure that the desired levels of compression are obtained but not exceeded.

Q: How easy is the bandage to apply?
A: The KANfix Veterinary Bandage Range has been designed for ease of use. For horses it can be applied on the hoist or after surgery. In dogs it can be applied either from the head, or hind legs to allow for those clinical cases where mobility and movement of hind leg is limited.

Q:Do I need to remove the KANfix Veterinary Equine Abdominal to inspect wounds or change dressings?
A: No- the KANfix Veterinary Equine Abdominal was designed to allow wound inspections and dressing changes without full garment removal. You simply remove the abdominal support bandage and unzip the abdominal section of the main garment. Once completed just re-zip the abdominal zip of the main garment and reapply the abdominal support bandage.

Q: What type of injury’s can I use these bandages for?
A: The KANfix Veterinary Range can be used where a barrier to wound dressings are required, reducing the risk of seromas and post operative swelling, or to keep drains in situ. The KANfix Equine Abdominal was specifically designed to provide robust abdominal support post colic surgery.  Additionally our new canine products, the KANfix Compression can be used where the therapeutic benefits of compression are required while still maintaining mobility. The KANfix Dynamic Support can be used for any hind limb pathologies that either would benefit from early mobilisation as part of the rehabilitation but require some support.

Q: Do you have a version for small animals other than dogs?
A: The XS size has been used with cats. We are currently working with our designers on extending the range.

SHOWfit Equine

Q:How does the SHOWfit maintain its water proofing properties?
A: The fabric is treated with a coating of Fluorocarbons- when washed (machine washed at 40 degrees) it reactivates the carbon rods to help repel water.

Q:Can I use the SHOWfit to dry my horse?
A: Yes, the fabric has wicking properties so it will help to draw moisture or water off your horse.

SHOWfit Performance Range

The SHOWfit performance range was designed with the sport horse in mind. It provides a means to aid recovery from training or competition using low level compression, including the limbs.
The SHOWfit Equine Recovery Suit can also aid lymphatic drainage during transportation of your horse. Additionally the garment will allow owners to keep their horse clean in preparation for competition with additional hood and tail components.
